Poor managerial communications

  • Lack of management communication skills
  • Communication ineptitude among management
  • Unsound intra-corporate communications
  • Information gaps within enterprises

Nature

Communication, it is widely agreed, is the most crucial key to management effectiveness. Nevertheless, downward communication is rated favourably by less than half of office workers at all levels. Horizontal communication is also limited and idiosyncratic. The main barrier is managerial insecurity, the tendency of executives to isolate themselves behind a wall of omniscience.
