Training local development facilitators

Developing an on-the-job training programme for local community development volunteers which involves them in the following activities in their own and other communities: gathering data dealing with a specific problem; building plans to relate to public and private agencies which might help with resources; enabling programmes to get started in the local community; or setting-up, staging and doing training programmes and community meetings.

1. On-the-job training of this type often results in mechanical reproduction of the work done while in training. The trainee does not know why the specific work was done nor how it was decided.
