Streamlining procedures for enterprise development

Description

Improving institutional facilities to enterprise creation and market entry encourages the private sector and fosters entrepreneurship.

Context

The essential objective is to simplify or remove restrictions, regulations and formalities that make it complicated, costly and time-consuming to set up and operate enterprises in many developing countries.

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
