Promoting English language in Latin America
- Learning English as second or third language in Latin America
Claim
On the American continent, English is spoken throughout most of North America whilst the Spanish language (except notably Brazil) dominates Latin America. Latin Americans often choose to learn English if they study a second or third language. Whilst, English speaking Americans should be encouraged to learn Spanish as a second or third language, Latin Americans should in turn continue to be encouraged to learn English as a second or third language. This unifying by language process will substantially improve cross-cultural understanding and bonding in the Americas, but also facilitate economic integration and opportunities, particularly since both North and South Americans are working towards an American free trade area.
