Operating underground press

  • Radical press
  • Producing illicit literature
  • Reporting militant journalism

Description

Reporting news with an emphatic disestablishment bias and also as a way of questioning the objectivity of the conventional new media.

Implementation

As news media have become larger and more international, they represent a perspective increasingly distant from that of any specific audience addressed.

Claim

  1. Publications which take on the specific perspective of a societal sector provide a forum for ideas which conventional media cannot or do not represent.

Counter claim

  1. Militant journalism focuses more on its own perspective than on the information transmitted, which tends to reinforce existing biases rather than to inform them.
