Helping women in exporting

Implementation

The Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation (CFTC) is funding a special programme to help women in exporting. The programme undertakes studies of the opportunities for women entrepreneurs in different societies, identifying potentially successful sellers and helping them to produce for and sell to clients abroad. Each of these studies is being followed by a package of proposals for the country, many of which are being implemented. For instance, the CFTC recently sponsored integrated marketing programmes in North America for five Ghanaian and seven Kenyan women entrepreneurs. These won business which may grow to 600,000 and 800,000 dollars respectively in the first year.
