- Regionalizing informatics networks
Description
Fostering regional cooperation on specialized information services involves establishing collaborative networks and shared platforms among neighboring countries or organizations to exchange, harmonize, and disseminate targeted data and expertise. This strategy addresses gaps in information access, reduces duplication of effort, and enhances resource efficiency. By pooling specialized knowledge and coordinating information management, regions can more effectively respond to common challenges, support informed decision-making, and strengthen collective problem-solving capacities.
Implementation

The Committee 'Information Policies and Programmes (FID/IP)' of the International Federation for Information and Documentation works to identify and promote research in the appropriate aspects of national and regional information policies and programmes to monitor (international) developments in the field.
