Enhancing night cooling of buildings

  • Enabling passive cooling of buildings

Description

Using natural ventilation, night cooling of buildings occurs due to the wind pressure around the building and the stack effect caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside air. Night cooling is one of the most effective means of providing indoor comfort during summer in climates with not more than 100 hours with excessive indoor temperatures (greater than 25.5 degrees C). Large expanses of glass reduce its effectiveness.
