The UN Population Fund has as one of its aims to build up, on an international basis, with the assistance of the competent bodies of the United Nations system, knowledge of and capacity to respond to national, regional, interregional and global needs in population and family planning; promote coordination in planning and programming, and cooperate with all concerned.
