Creating innovative forms of biodiversity conservation to attract increased global funding

  • Developing unusual national biodiversity conservation programmes to attract foreign funding
  • Establishing unique projects for biological resource management to encourage donor funding

Description

Promoting innovative approaches to the conservation and sustainable use of the planet's biological diversity at the genetic, species, and ecosystem levels involves promoting sustainable economic uses of biological resources and strengthening systems of parks and protected areas. Geographically, this involves a focus on two types of areas: those richest in biodiversity and facing the greatest threat, and those that are least disturbed and present the greatest opportunity for long-term conservation.
