Allowing habitat destruction, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict to continue is irresponsible and shortsighted. Conserving bears is not an important strategy at all. Limited conservation funds should focus on urgent human needs and more endangered species, not on large predators that can threaten communities, livestock, and livelihoods. Protecting bears often imposes costly restrictions on landowners while producing questionable benefits. Governments should prioritize practical, measurable solutions rather than emotionally driven campaigns for animals that are adaptable, widespread, and capable of managing their own populations.
