The Hunger Site is an innovative new tool to help feed the hungry. Visitors to the site are invited to donate a serving of food by clicking on a button. The donations are paid for by corporate sponsors. The Hunger Site has chosen to give the donations it generates via the internet to the United Nations World Food Programme.

Claim

Multinational companies such as Monsanto and DuPont claim that GM technology will help to solve world hunger. GM technology is not the answer to world hunger and multinationals stand accused of cynically manipulating people's extreme poverty for their own commercial ends. Hunger is caused by poverty and access to land and resources; concentrating control of the world's food supply in the hands of a few large corporations is the last thing that the poor need.
