  • Raising self esteem

Context

According to some psychologist, lack of self-esteem is a chief cause of many of our social problems -- especially drug addiction, violence, teenage pregnancies, high school drop-out rates and low work productivity.

Claim

  1. Self-esteem is associated with faith in one's innate capacities. It enhances inclinations toward becoming constructive, life-affirming, responsible and trustworthy citizens. Self-esteem also helps people to own and exercise power and take charge of their lives and society.
