Assisting women refugees through training
Context
A disproportionately high number of refugees are women, many of whom are heads of household. However only a fraction of the assistance programmes reach them.
Implementation
ILO endeavours to improve the quality and outreach of skills development programmes for women refugees. Emphasis is placed on increasing the participation of women refugees in existing programmes and ensuring that skills provided lead to employment and self-employment.
