Theft of identity

The explosion of the information age brings new types of privacy problems, including the fastest growing crime in the United States, identity theft. There are daily reports of problems created by the unauthorized use of credit bureau records, medical and insurance databases, business and government databases where the perpetrator assumes the identity of an authorized system operator. This may be through fraudulent use of password, email address or ISP number.
