Superficial motivation initiatives

  • Inadequate methods to awaken consciousness
  • Inadequate techniques of conscientization

Claim

  1. Motivational technicians are not equipping people with the tools necessary to kindle any deep awareness of the necessity for, or meaning in, the roles in work and leisure of individuals and groups. In contrast with past values (the "my country do or die" approach), little or nothing seems worth risking one's life for. Because of this lack of motivation, the whole of society languishes without an adequate sense of responsibility. Nevertheless, individuals do seem to be seeking an engagement which extends beyond the immediate self-imperatives. The issue is therefore not so much what is being done, but how to put what is being done in a motivating form.
