Obsolete educational values

  • Imposition on the young of outmoded values
  • Outmoded motivational methods
  • Inappropriate educational values

Claim

  1. The established generation chooses to set the limits on the world of younger people through the imposition of values that previously governed the adults' world. Imparting absolute morals such as "lying is bad" makes adults feel secure and comfortable; but younger people, when applying such absolute values on encountering real-life situations, tend to question the reasons behind them. When unsatisfactory answers are given, the young judge the values to be inapplicable and either active or passive rebellion ensues.
