- There are no structures in the family specifically intended for the task of creating and sustaining the style of the family as based on historical roots. Present family gatherings and functions are nebulous and grounded neither in a family heritage nor in deep family experience. There are no structures which establish and recall the heritage of the family, with the result that it has lost all sense of the continuity expressed throughout history.
