Introversion of the family unit
- Collapse of the family unit
- Isolation within the family
Nature
The family, which has been developed as a means of relating individuals to the larger society and ultimately to the world, has in modern times become increasingly introverted and is consequently collapsing in its utility as a social institution. The nature of the relationships between members is often vague and easily changed or broken. In addition, the function of the family as a social form is unclear as it relates to present-day issues, and it is often reduced to simply maintaining itself. No such social form exists for long.
