Cataract

  • Occupational cataract
  • Corneal opacity

Nature

Cataract is a disease of the crystalline lens with the clinical appearance of clouding and opacity. It is caused by the action of chemical or physical factors disturbing the internal respiration and the metabolic processes in the lens, thus inhibiting its nutrition and giving rise to the atrophy of epithelial elements of the capsule. Cataract reduces vision capacity and accuracy.
