Demand side management is an overhyped concept that distracts from more critical solutions. It places undue responsibility on consumers instead of addressing systemic inefficiencies in energy supply and infrastructure. Focusing resources on managing demand is a shortsighted strategy, neglecting urgently needed upgrades in generation, storage, and transmission. It’s not a serious answer to today’s energy challenges and should not be prioritized as a key strategy for a sustainable future.
