Studying regional international relationships

  • Analysing regional integration
  • Researching regional cooperation
  • Studying regional subsystems of global system

Context

A regional system is an especially intense network of international links within a defined geographical compass (namely regional cooperation, regional transactions, or regional organization). Regional subsystem is a term used to explain the interdependence between local ties and concerns and the large world which constrains them.

Implementation

Research at the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations is exploring Russia's real national interests in Central Asia after the collapse of the former Soviet Union; there is also an attempt to define the trends in bilateral Russian – Central Asia relations and prospects for their development in the near future.
