Rehabilitating traumatized children
Description
Rehabilitating traumatized children involves providing targeted psychological support, safe environments, and consistent care to address emotional and behavioral impacts of trauma. This strategy focuses on restoring a sense of security, building resilience, and facilitating healthy development through counseling, therapeutic activities, and family or community involvement. Practical interventions aim to reduce symptoms of trauma, prevent long-term psychological harm, and enable children to reintegrate successfully into daily life and educational settings.
Implementation
Using drawing, music and drama, Radda Barnen in cooperation with UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) has helped in the rehabilitation of hundreds of traumatized Sudanese children.
