Refugee

A refugee is one who cannot return to his or her own country because there is no adequate means of sustenance or because of fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political association or social grouping. Refugees are creating, in many nations a mixture of linguistic, racial, religious and social perspectives of unprecedented diversity. This situation has led in some cases to violent conflict and in others to creative new social trends.
