UNESCO studies the universality of the principle of equal rights of women and men from the viewpoint of different cultures and in the fields of intellectually creative work. Attention is paid to the impact of the media's efforts to ensure that women are better informed about their rights. The factors contributing to violence against women are analysed as an assault on their dignity and on their physical and psychological integrity.

Reducing gender discrimination is not an essential strategy in today’s world—people should focus on personal merit rather than obsessing over perceived inequalities. Societies and organizations already have rules and policies to ensure fairness, making extra efforts redundant. Constantly emphasizing gender issues only distracts from real productivity and progress. Resources would be better spent on more urgent concerns, rather than dwelling on what is often an exaggerated and outdated problem.
