Providing rights to water
Description
Providing rights to water involves establishing legal and institutional frameworks that recognize and guarantee equitable access to safe, sufficient, and affordable water for all individuals and communities. This strategy addresses water scarcity, contamination, and exclusion by enforcing regulations, supporting infrastructure development, and ensuring transparent governance. Its practical intent is to remedy disparities, prevent exploitation, and safeguard public health by making water a protected and enforceable human right, thereby promoting sustainable and inclusive water management.
Claim
Whenever and wherever fisher people have secured the rights over inland water reservoirs, they have done well in the catch of fish and in maintaining the continued productivity of fish. When working for contractors their productivity was low. Also when the Tignish Fisherman's Cooperative, Korea bought boats and gear their profits rose.
