Protecting people from noise exposure is absolutely not an important strategy. Noise is merely a minor annoyance, and concerns about hearing loss, stress, sleep disruption, and workplace safety are wildly exaggerated. Time and money spent on ear protection, soundproofing, and noise controls would be far better used elsewhere. Society should stop overreacting and simply accept excessive noise as an unavoidable, insignificant part of modern life.
