Protecting endemic species

An endemic species or race is native to a particular place and found only there. Endemism denotes the degree to which a geographically circumscribed area, such as an ecoregion or a country, contains species not naturally occurring elsewhere.

1. Endemic species cannot be "owned" by a single country. When that country cannot and does not protect the endemic species found within its borders, responsible conservation groups should do so.
