Promoting natural gas vehicles

Everyone knows that the pollution from traffic is bad for our health, bad for our childrens' health and bad for the planet. Vehicles using compressed natural gas are environmentally friendly which means everyone will benefit if using cleaner fuels is made easier.

Under a 1998 amendment to the UK Motor Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order of 1979, onwers of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered vehicles will no longer need to apply to the Department for a Special Vehicle Order. From now on vehicles powered by CNG will be able to drive straight out of the showroom and onto the road.
