Engages in a journey to a sacred site, whether as a form of religious penance, to gain supernatural help, as a discipline of self-discovery, as an act of thanksgiving or out of devotion. This reinforces the values symbolized by the sacred site, which are partially associated with the pilgrim on his journey as well as on his return to his community.
