Increasing church attendance

  • Increasing participation in collective religious worship
  • Attending religious services

Implementation

According to the results of a survey of 1,400 adults (Journal of Adult Development, 2002) attending religious services was associated with decreased psychological distress among young and middle-aged adults and increased life satisfaction among older adults. It was also associated with higher self-rated health among participants of all ages.

Claim

  1. People who regularly attend religious services live longer and also tend to follow healthier behaviors Some of it is just peer influence; some suggests that "religiosity" helps people to live healthier and longer lives.
