Forging common creative consensus
Description
Forging common creative consensus involves facilitating inclusive dialogue and collaborative decision-making among diverse stakeholders to generate shared solutions. This strategy addresses fragmentation, conflicting interests, and innovation barriers by establishing clear communication channels, mediating differences, and synthesizing varied perspectives. Its practical intent is to unite participants around actionable agreements, enabling coordinated implementation and sustained progress in complex problem-solving contexts where collective creativity and commitment are essential for effective and lasting outcomes.
Implementation
The Natural Step gathered together all the most respected scientists in Sweden, who drew up, through many iterations, a consensus document on environmental problems and on the most critical avenues for action. This document was then backed by the King of Sweden, by key industrialists and by the media, and was circulated to every household in Sweden. It has led to the greening of big international firms, to the distribution of papers on energy policy and other topics to MPs, and to an environmental youth parliament.
