Facilitating a culture of participation

Implementation

The tools, methods and techniques of the Institute for Cultural Affairs create opportunities for people to build and sustain a motivating environment. They provide leadership tools which allow the leader to create opportunities for the staff to build their vision and actualization plans. They profide opportunities for profound and meaningful engagement in determining the future of their organization. They empower each individual by providing them with the opportunity to use their knowledge, skill and creativity in the corporate work of the group.

Claim

  1. Motativation that follows from empowerment and a meaningful purpose and values does not simply happen. Nor can it be achieved by publishing an organization's mission statement or sending people off on various training programmes. Self-esteem and self-actualization happen when people are participating in the creative process of determining the direction and flow of their work and of its significance to the organization of larger society. A culture of participation is fundamentally a culture where people experience confidence in themselves and confidence in the meaning of their endeavour. working in an organization with a culture of participation is intrinsically a motivating experience.
