Exemplifying life stance

Description

Acting out one's particular attitude toward life. The effect is one of enabling transfiguration of social interaction by indirectly enlisting others through this example to a similar life-style.

Context

An integral part of transforming social interaction to enable the individual to display his particular gifts; and to breathe new life into individual and group cultural encounters within the community.

Implementation

Tactics include: new symbols to raise up common symbols that point to the stance of the responsible local-global citizen; renewed rites to revitalize old ceremonies and covenants such as weddings, baptisms, family covenants and funeral services; re-imaged styles to call existing life-styles of a community into question by offering a more adequate alternative; story rehearsal to portray what it means to be the responsible local-global citizen; and missional engagement to demonstrate what it means to be missionally engaged in the local situation as a responsible local-global citizen. An example is the writing and living out of a family covenant.
