Implementation

The National Business Initiative (NBI) was formed in South Africa in 1995 to enhance the business contribution to economic growth, reduction of poverty and effective governance. The NBI has the support of 150 major companies and works in partnership with the South African government on three main programmes: (1) Urban and economic development; (2) Local government capacity building; and (3) Education and training.
