Educating in deep ecology
Implementation
Institutes for deep ecology education have been set up in parallel in the UK, Germany and the USA. They aim to facilitate contact, support and exchange of ideas and methods between people involved in deep ecology education.
Claim
Deep ecology, like the GAIA hypothesis, recognizes the earth as a living system in which all life is interconnected and interdependent. This view alters the way we then see ourselves in relation to each other and all live. It challenges us to consider new ways of being, a new worldview, and creative responses to social and ecological crises.
