Donor

Donates resources, usually funds, to a cause considered worthy. Causes may include combatting a disease, advancing a political group, promoting an artist, establishing a community, or assisting the needy. Donations may involve small sums given irregularly (in street collections), larger sums given regularly (tithing) or major sums given on a one-time basis. Provides one of the few ways for ensuring that new social initiatives can be effectively implemented.
