Civil resister

Demonstrates, often non-violently, against initiatives in society which are considered against the interests of that society, whether because they physically endanger it (military bases), because they endanger the natural environment (nuclear power stations) or because they are inherently unjust (racially discriminatory barriers). May involve being beaten or imprisoned, which can acquire important symbolic significance in establishing recognition for the justice of the cause.
