Harasses people who are weaker, who are not able to defend themselves or not willing to do so. Often acts with the tacit approval of other members of the group or community as part of the process by which newcomers are tested or repulsed. The great psychological pain and humiliation sensitizes people to social dimensions and evokes dramatic response important to personal and group growth, irrespective of whether any physical pain is caused.
