Broadening knowledge about youth
Description
Broadening knowledge about youth involves systematically gathering, analyzing, and disseminating accurate information on young people's needs, challenges, and contributions. This strategy aims to remedy gaps in understanding that hinder effective policy and program development. By promoting research, cross-sector collaboration, and youth participation in knowledge-sharing, it enables stakeholders to design targeted interventions, address misconceptions, and support youth empowerment, ultimately fostering more responsive and inclusive societies.
Implementation
A UNESCO mobilizing project is designed to broaden the existing stock of knowledge about the condition of young people in society: to foster enhanced awareness of their needs and aspirations among decision-makers, opinion leaders and the wider public at the local, national and international levels, and to support training activities aimed at facilitating more active participation by young people in the economic and socio-cultural life of the community. An international youth clearing-house and information service has been established.
