Abolishing armed forces

In April 1993, Germany's Green Party (one of the nation's parties), called for the abolition of the country's armed forces. Their aims include wanting the future government to scrap the military in its entirety, to encourage global conscientious objection, and to organize an international conference to agree to substantial arms reductions.
