Fear of social situations in which the person is exposed to possible scrutiny by others and also a fear of doing something embarrassing or humiliating in the presence of other people. It may be inability to talk in public, to urinate in public lavatory, to write without hand-trembling in the presence of others or to answer questions in social situations.
