Metabolic diseases of muscle

Many metabolic diseases of muscle covered are inherited, sometimes progressive, disorders. They involve muscular weakness that frequently only appears during prolonged or intense exercise or athletic activity. This exercise-induced weakness is often accompanied by pain and cramps. Most of these diseases do not produce muscle wasting, and most are rare. Possible kidney damage is a complication.
