Lack of information on current agrobiodiversity

Nature

The agricultural use of natural resources is very diverse and remains generally un-recorded. The reason for this is the very different ecological, historical, social, institutional, and economic features, that strongly influence landscapes, biodiversity, cultivation practices, production and productivity, rural communities, farmers' skills and knowledge, land tenure, the size of farms and infrastructure. While there is detailed and aggregated data about the socio-economic aspects of agriculture in most regions, there are few combined data sources on agriculture and biodiversity.
