Impediments to marriage include legal, social, psychological, ideological and economic impediments. They may lead to frustration, exploitation, prostitution, promiscuity, cohabitation, illegitimacy and also lack of social mobility and lack of integration in society. Impediments to marriage cause inequality before the law and an unequal distribution of social services.
