Foreign bodies in body

Foreign bodies entering the body can cause injury. Entry may be via the eye and adnexa, an orifice or an open wound, and includes materials inadvertently left in wounds during surgical operations. Efforts to expel the foreign body may also be injurious, for example, choking.
