Becker muscular dystrophy

Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) has its onset during adolescence or adulthood. The symptoms are almost identical to Duchenne muscular dystrophy, but often much less severe. There can be significant heart involvements. The disease progresses more slowly and is more variable than Duchenne with survival well into mid to late adulthood.
