Title

In law, a title of ownership is an instrument that testifies to a sale or purchase or other conveyance or exchange of property. A title of ownership or of other rights such as usage may also be termed a deed. In another usage it is said that patents of nobility are records of the granting of aristocratic or honorary titles or appellations. Titles of personal status are also used in religious and fraternal organizations. All titles which are not accorded privileges by secular, civil law, are honorary or ecclesiastical and all citizens are not bound to respect them.
