Terminology

Terminology is the branch of vocabulary which relates to the sets of terms specific to particular areas of science, technology, industry, art, or public life. Every new concept in a specialized area must be designated by a specific term. The explosion of knowledge and of speculation has also created an unnecessarily high level of poorly constructed terms e.g. hybrid Latin-Greek, acronyms, and falsely analagous descriptors. When new terms are validly proposed they often are slow in winning acceptance internationally.
