Television

Television is a means by which a scene in motion with its accompanying sounds is converted into an electrical signal, which is then transmitted and reconverted into visible and audible images by a receiver. Television is one of the most wide-reaching methods of disseminating political, cultural, scientific, and educational information and one of the principal means of communication, used in science, management, technology, and other applied fields. Its worldwide social impact, positive and negative, is incalculable. At same time the moral content of much programming in the West and the censorship of programming in Eastern Europe raise serious problems.
